Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) User Guide
Step 1: Register for SSPR
Sign In:
- What You See: A sign-in page where you enter your Office 365 username and password.
- Action: Go to the Office 365 sign-in page and log in with your credentials.
- Office 365 Sign-In Page: office.com
Registration Prompt:
- What You See: A prompt asking you to register for SSPR.
- Action: Click on the Next button to start the registration process.
Set Up Authentication Methods:
- What You See: Options to set up your authentication methods, such as phone number, email, or security questions.
- Action: Follow the instructions to set up your preferred authentication methods.
Complete Registration:
- What You See: A confirmation screen indicating that your registration is complete.
- Action: Click Finish to complete the registration.
Step 2: Reset Your Password
Go to the Password Reset Page:
- What You See: A password reset page with fields to enter your username.
- Action: If you forget your password, go to the Office 365 password reset page.
- Office 365 Password Reset Page: passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
Enter Your Username:
- What You See: A field to enter your username.
- Action: Enter your username and click Next.
Verify Your Identity:
- What You See: Options to verify your identity using the authentication methods you set up during registration.
- Action: Choose an authentication method and follow the prompts to verify your identity.
Reset Your Password:
- What You See: A screen to enter and confirm your new password.
- Action: Enter a new password that meets the security requirements and click Finish.
Step 3: Unlock Your Account
Go to the Account Unlock Page:
- What You See: An account unlock page with fields to enter your username.
- Action: If your account is locked, go to the Office 365 account unlock page.
- Office 365 Account Unlock Page: passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
Enter Your Username:
- What You See: A field to enter your username.
- Action: Enter your username and click Next.
Verify Your Identity:
- What You See: Options to verify your identity using the authentication methods you set up during registration.
- Action: Choose an authentication method and follow the prompts to verify your identity.
Unlock Your Account:
- What You See: A confirmation screen indicating that your account has been unlocked.
- Action: Follow the instructions to unlock your account.
