Installation Guide

If your device is Managed by Marriott, Island Enterprise Browser will be installed for you.

  • On Windows, follow Microsoft's guidance to see installed apps and search for Bigfix. If the app is found, your device is Managed by Marriott.

  • On macOS follow Apple's guidance to see installed apps and search for Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub. If the app is found, your device is Managed by Marriott.

You can check if Island Enterprise Browser is already installed using the steps below:

  • On Windows, follow Microsoft's guidance to see installed apps, and search for Island
  • On macOS, select the Launchpad icon in the Dock, and search for Island.

If Island Enterprise Browser is already installed on your device, see the post-installation guide.

If not, proceed to the below instructions.

Before you can install the Island Enterprise Browser, you must meet the minimum requirements:

  • Operating System Requirements:
  • Active Marriott International EID
  • Administrator Privileges

If you do not meet these requirements, please contact your IT Administrator or manager.

If not, proceed to the below instructions.

How to install Island Enterprise Browser

As part of the Brand Standard: Franchise Security (IT-SEC-023), anti-virus and disk-encryption are required. 

Devices non-compliant with anti-virus requirement will not be able to access GXP/ResApp or ARM until anti-virus is enabled. If you need assistance enabling anti-virus, contact your IT administrator and review the guidance from Microsoft.

Devices non-compliant with disk-encryption requirements will be able to access GXP/ResApp and ARM but cannot save files locally to their computer. If you need assistance enabling disk-encryption, contact your IT administrator and review the guidance from Microsoft and guidance from Apple.

Before you begin:

  • If you are an IT administrator installing Island Enterprise Browser on multiple devices, please view "Mass Installation for IT Admins" below.
  • Administrator privileges are required.*

To get started; on your desktop or laptop, navigate to https://download.island.io/. The installation file is protected, so you must login with your EID + @marriott.com (e.g., jdoe123@marriott.com), then select the arrow to continue. (Note: A valid Marriott email address is not required, but this format is required on the login page to route you to Marriott Single Sign On.)

You will be redirected to the Marriott Single Sign On page to login using your EID (e.g., jdoe123), password, and two-step verification.

After successful authentication, you will be allowed to download Island Enterprise Browser.


Once you’re done downloading, open the downloaded file, and follow the instructions to install Island browser. Note: The downloaded file must be used within 24 hours. After 24 hours, the installation will fail, and you must download again to proceed.

*During installation, if you're asked, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device," select Yes.


Selecting Yes requires administrator privileges and will install Island Enterprise Browser for all users of this computer. If you do not have administrator privileges, please contact your IT administrator, or the Marriott Service Desk (240-632-6000) for Marriott managed devices.

Open the downloaded file named IslandX64.pkg. In the window that opens, select Continue and follow the on-screen instructions. You might be asked to enter the administrator password. If you don't know the administrator password, change the Install Location to a place on your computer where you can make edits, like your desktop.

This guide will overview the steps to silently install Island browser for Windows devices. This can be used in conjunction with your endpoint manager of choice to mass deploy.

To get started; on your desktop or laptop, navigate to https://download.island.io/. The installation file is protected, so you must login with your EID + @marriott.com (e.g., jdoe123@marriott.com), then select the arrow to continue. (Note: A valid Marriott email address is not required, but this format is required on the login page to route you to Marriott Single Sign On.)

You will be redirected to the Marriott Single Sign On page to login using your EID (e.g., jdoe123), password, and two-step verification.


After successful authentication, you will be allowed to download Island Browser. For mass deployment, select Windows (.msi).

Note: The downloaded file will expire after 90 days. After 90 days, the installation will fail, and you must download again to continue installing.

It is possible to do a silent install using the MSI via command line:

msiexec /quiet /package IslandStandaloneX64.msi

The MSI installer also supports the command line parameter below:

VERBOSELOGGING=1
DONOTCREATEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=1

For example:

msiexec /quiet /package IslandStandaloneX64.msi DONOTCREATEDESKTOPSHORTCUT=1

If you have issues creating the installation package within your endpoint manager, contact your management tool vendor directly to troubleshoot.
