Improving Internet Browser Security - Removing Google Chrome

All non-secure versions of Google Chrome will be removed to help improve Hyatt’s Cyber Security footprint.  As a reminder, Hyatt's preferred browser solution is Microsoft Edge. This browser runs on the same engine as Chrome and, in most cases, can perform the same functions. 

This process will be done in a phase outlined below. 


Phase 1 – Begins December 1st, 2022

– BETA hotels - POS Terminals – Complete

Phase 2 – Begins January 4th, 2023

 – All Hotels POS Terminals - In Progress

Phase 3 – Begins January 15th, 2023

– BETA hotels – All Workstations

Phase 4 – TBD – Tentative for February based on Beta results

– All Hotels Workstations

 

To help prepare for this change, we recommend backing up your bookmarks and importing them into Edge.  This process will create a backup of Chrome bookmarks to import back into Chrome later, as well. Please reference this HyTech Answers article for assistance.

 

Please Note: If you are using a non-secure version that is removed, a secure version of Chrome will be made available, within the Hyatt Software Center, and can be reinstalled, as needed.
